Education Calculators — GPA, WAM, Final Grade Needed and ATAR Estimate

Four calculators for the questions students actually ask: what is my GPA, what is my WAM, what do I need on the exam, and roughly what ATAR do these study scores give. Each takes one line per course or assessment, shows the working in a table, and runs entirely in the browser.

Every Education Calculators tool

GPA weighted by credit points

The GPA calculator takes a grade and credit points per line and returns the credit-weighted average on either the US 4.0 letter scale or the Australian 7.0 scale. Letter grades, HD to F, or grade points typed as numbers are all accepted. Add a target GPA and the credits you have left to see the average you need over them, with a clear statement when the target is already secured or out of reach.

WAM from marks, credits and year level

The WAM calculator averages raw marks weighted by credit points, the way most Australian universities report on the transcript. An optional third number on each line sets a year-level weight for universities such as Monash that count first-year units at half. The result shows the grade band the WAM sits in and the average needed over remaining credits for a target.

What you need on the final

The final grade calculator takes the assessments you have marks for, with their weights, and returns your weighted grade so far, the mark you need across the remaining weight to hit a target, and the lowest and highest final grades still possible. It is the quickest way to find out whether an exam matters as much as it feels like it does.

An ATAR estimate that says it is an estimate

The ATAR estimator applies the Victorian aggregate method, the top four scaled study scores plus ten percent of the fifth and sixth, and reads the aggregate off an approximate curve from recent years. The ATAR is a rank decided by the whole cohort after results are released, so no calculator can be official; this one labels the result as an estimate, gives a range, and explains what would move it.

Entering the lines

Every page takes plain text, one item per line, separated by spaces, commas or tabs, so you can paste from a spreadsheet or a transcript. Names are optional where they appear. The table under the result shows how each line contributed, which is the fastest way to spot a typo.

Everything runs on your device

Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored. The pages keep working offline once loaded, and the percentage and scientific calculators are linked from each page for the conversions that come up along the way.
