Free Science Calculators

Energy, Wavelength, Periodic Table, Molar Mass, Gas Laws, pH and Transformer Calculators

Physics and electronics calculators that show the formula and the working. Find the kinetic or potential energy of a moving or raised object, convert a frequency to a wavelength, time light across the solar system, or work out reactance, time constants, transformer turns and the load a set of speakers puts on an amplifier.

Electronics 3

Capacitors, inductors, transformers and speaker wiring.

How the science tools are organised

Physics covers energy in all its forms, from ½mv² and mgh to kilowatt-hours and E = mc², the link between frequency and wavelength for radio, light and sound, and the time light takes to cross any distance in a vacuum or through glass, water and fibre. Chemistry has an interactive periodic table and calculators for moles, solutions, gases, pH, yields and balancing equations. Electronics covers capacitors and inductors, transformers and speaker wiring, the sums you need when building or repairing circuits.

SI units throughout

Every tool works in SI units, metres, kilograms, seconds, joules, ohms and hertz, and shows results in the everyday units people actually use alongside them, such as kWh, km/h, light-minutes and electronvolts. Physical constants such as the speed of light and standard gravity use their exact defined values, so results match textbooks and datasheets.

More science tools

Ohm's law, force, pressure, density, resistor colour codes, battery life, decibels and joules to kWh live in the main calculators section and are linked from the relevant pages here.

FAQ

Do these science calculators show the working?

Yes. Each result shows the formula with your numbers substituted, such as ½ × 1,500 × 27.78² for a car's kinetic energy or 1 ÷ 2π√(LC) for a resonant frequency, so you can check it by hand or copy the method into homework or a design note.

What constants do the calculators use?

The speed of light is exactly 299,792,458 m/s, standard gravity is 9.80665 m/s² and Planck's constant and the electron charge use their exact 2019 SI values. Speeds of sound use typical values for air at 20 °C and for water, which you should adjust for very different conditions.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs in your browser, so the values you enter never leave your device. The pages keep working offline once they have loaded, which is handy on a workbench or in a classroom without a connection.
