Work and Business Calculators — Annual Leave, FTE, Severance, Bonus, Employee Cost, Shipping and Loading

Eight calculators for the numbers that come up in running a team or moving goods: how much holiday someone has accrued, how many full-time equivalents a roster adds up to, what redundancy costs, what a bonus scheme pays, what an employee really costs beside a contractor, and how much a parcel, pallet or container will carry. Imperial and metric inputs are accepted on the logistics tools and nothing you enter leaves the browser.

Annual leave

The annual leave calculator pro-rates a holiday entitlement for part-time hours and for starting or leaving part-way through the leave year, shows what has accrued to today and what is left after days taken and carried over, and gives the accrual rate per month and week with a table for one to five days a week.

Full-time equivalent

The FTE calculator turns groups of full and part-time staff into a full-time equivalent figure, total weekly and annual hours and the part-time share of the workforce, with a table of the FTE value of common part-time patterns.

Severance pay

The severance pay calculator applies the UK statutory age-banded redundancy formula or a custom weeks-per-year scheme, adds notice paid in lieu and untaken holiday, applies a weekly cap and tax-free allowance, and tables the payout by years of service.

Bonus

The bonus calculator works a target percentage of salary through individual and company multipliers and months worked, shows take-home after tax and pension, and tables the payout at every performance rating.

Employee cost

The employee vs contractor cost calculator adds payroll taxes, pension, benefits, equipment and recruitment to salary, divides by productive days after holiday and sickness, and compares the result with a contractor's day rate, agency margin and days worked.

Shipping cost

The shipping cost calculator finds a parcel's volumetric weight from its dimensions, compares it with the actual weight to give the chargeable weight, and prices the shipment from a rate per kilo, base fee and fuel surcharge, with a table for each carrier divisor.

Pallet loading

The pallet loading calculator fits cartons onto a Euro, UK, US or custom pallet, trying each orientation and filling leftover strips, then applies height and weight limits to give boxes per layer, layers, boxes per pallet and utilisation.

Container loading

The container loading calculator fits the same carton into a 20 ft, 40 ft, high cube or 45 ft container in the best of six orientations, checks the payload, counts the containers a quantity needs, and compares every container type including pallet counts.
