How the Replace Colour in Image works

Replace colour in image files without a full editor: pick the colour to find, choose the new colour and set how close a match counts. Shading is kept by default, so a red jumper becomes a blue one with its folds and highlights intact.

How to replace colour in image files

Choose an image, then set Colour to find to the colour you want to change. Use the image colour picker tool if you need the exact hex value. Set Replace with to the new colour and adjust Tolerance until the whole area changes without touching anything else.

Tolerance

Tolerance controls how different a pixel can be and still count as a match. Low values change only the exact colour, which suits logos and flat graphics. Higher values catch shadows and highlights in photos. Edges are blended softly so the change does not look cut out.

Keep shading or flat colour

Keep shading shifts each matching pixel by the difference between the two colours, so texture and light stay natural. Flat colour paints matches with the exact new colour, which is better for icons, clip art and screenshots.

Private by design

Every pixel is processed in your browser, and the image never leaves your device.

FAQ

Why did other parts of my image change too?

Anything within the tolerance of the chosen colour is replaced, wherever it is in the image. Lower the tolerance until only the intended area changes, or crop the area first and recolour just that piece.

How do I change the colour of a logo?

Pick the logo's exact colour as the colour to find, set the new brand colour, choose Flat colour and use a low tolerance. For SVG logos the SVG colour replacer gives a perfectly sharp result instead.

Does it work on transparent PNGs?

Yes. Transparency is preserved and PNG files are saved as PNG. Only the red, green and blue values of matching pixels are changed, so the outline and soft edges of the image stay the same.

What does the pixels changed figure mean?

It shows the share of the image that matched the colour to find within the tolerance. It is a quick way to check whether the setting caught the area you meant or spilled into the rest of the picture.
