How the Solfeggio Frequency Player works
This solfeggio frequency player gives you all nine solfeggio tones on one page, from 174 Hz to 963 Hz, as clean sine or triangle waves. Tap a pad to start, tap another to glide to it, and set a fade and a timer if you want it to stop on its own. The readout shows which musical note each frequency sits closest to.
What the solfeggio frequencies are
The modern solfeggio list is six frequencies, 396, 417, 528, 639, 741 and 852 Hz, linked to the syllables Ut, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol and La from a medieval hymn, plus three later additions, 174, 285 and 963 Hz. The set was popularised in the 1990s and is widely used in meditation and sound bath recordings. Claims that each one heals a particular thing are not supported by scientific evidence, and the hymn itself never used these frequencies.
Using the solfeggio frequency player
Pick a pad and the tone fades in over the fade time. Choosing a different pad while one is playing glides between them instead of cutting, and tapping the playing pad again fades it out. Sine is the purest sound; triangle adds faint odd harmonics and is easier to hear on small speakers. The timer fades the tone out after the time you choose.
Where they sit musically
None of the nine falls on a standard A440 piano note. 528 Hz, for example, is about 16 cents sharp of C5, and 432 Hz tuning puts it closer. The nearest-note readout shows the offset in cents, which is handy if you want to play an instrument alongside.
FAQ
What is 528 Hz said to do?
528 Hz is often called the love or miracle frequency, and some sources claim it repairs DNA. There is no good evidence for that. It is a pleasant, mid-range tone that many people find calming, which is a perfectly fine reason to listen to it.
Is 432 Hz a solfeggio frequency?
No. 432 Hz is an alternative tuning standard for A, slightly lower than the usual 440 Hz, and is a separate idea that is often mentioned alongside solfeggio. You can play 432 Hz on the tone generator if you want to compare the two.
Is it safe to listen for a long time?
Yes, at a comfortable volume. Keep the level low on headphones, since a pure tone can seem quieter than it really is, and take breaks if it starts to feel tiring. The timer helps if you plan to listen while falling asleep.
