How the OSRS Name Generator works
An OSRS name generator for Old School RuneScape usernames. Old School players love names that say exactly what kind of account you run, whether that is an ironman, a pure, a zerker, a skiller or a main. Generate names in each account style, all short enough for the twelve-character display name limit.
How the OSRS name generator works
Account types matter in Old School, and a name that shows yours is a tradition. Ironman names use Iron or the classic Btw joke, Iron Kestrel or Moth Btw, for players who refuse to trade. Pure names mention a weapon and often 1 Def, since pures keep defence low to fight lower-level players. Zerker names use the Zerk nickname for mid-defence builds. Skiller names stay at the lowest combat level and celebrate a gathering skill, Flax Enjoyer. Main names use the cows, rats and goblins every new player fights first, with a friendly ending, GoblinSlayer. Every result is twelve characters or fewer.
Spaces and underscores
Old School treats spaces, hyphens and underscores as the same character when checking if a name is taken, so try a compact version if the spaced one is gone.

FAQ
What does Btw mean in OSRS names?
It comes from the running joke that ironmen always mention their account type, as in I am an ironman, by the way. Adding Btw to a name is a self-aware nod that the whole community instantly recognises.
What is a pure in Old School RuneScape?
A pure is an account that keeps some combat skills, usually defence, deliberately low while training attack and strength. It keeps the combat level down, so the player can fight lower-level opponents with surprisingly strong hits.
How long can an OSRS name be?
Old School display names can be up to twelve characters long, including spaces, and may use letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and underscores. Short, punchy names are easiest to fit and far more likely to be available.
What should I name an ironman?
Pick something that shows the account type, like Iron plus an animal or plant, or add the Btw joke. Keep it short so other players can read it easily, and avoid numbers that look like a fallback choice.
