LUT Applier
Colour Grade a Photo With Any .cube LUT File and an Intensity Slider
OneTask is free, with no sign-up, and built by one person.
If this tool saved you time, a coffee helps keep new ones coming.
How the LUT Applier works
This LUT applier colour grades a photo with any 3D .cube LUT, the format used by Premiere,
DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut and Lightroom presets, so you can preview a look on a still image before
using it on video.
How to use the LUT applier
Choose a photo and a .cube file together, either by selecting both in the file picker or by
dropping both at once. The graded photo appears straight away. Use Intensity to blend the grade with
the original, which is useful when a LUT is too strong for a particular shot. Download the graded
image when it looks right.
What a LUT is
A lookup table maps every input colour to an output colour. A 3D LUT stores that map as a cube of sample points, often 17, 33 or 65 per side, and colours between the points are blended by trilinear interpolation. Creative LUTs give film looks such as teal and orange, while technical LUTs convert log footage from cameras into normal contrast.
Supported files
Standard 3D .cube files from Adobe, Resolve and most LUT packs work, including ones with custom
DOMAIN_MIN and DOMAIN_MAX ranges. 1D LUTs and other formats such as .3dl are not supported.
Log-conversion LUTs expect a flat log image, so on an ordinary photo they will look far too
contrasty.
Private by design
The photo and the LUT are read in your browser and neither is uploaded.
FAQ
How do I apply a LUT to a photo?
Choose your photo and your .cube file at the same time in the file picker, or drag both onto the drop area together. The tool applies the LUT at full strength, and the Intensity slider blends it back towards the original.
Why does my LUT make the photo look washed out or too contrasty?
It is probably a technical conversion LUT designed for log footage from a specific camera. Those expect a flat, low-contrast source. Creative or Rec.709 LUTs are the ones meant for normal photos and video.
Can I preview video LUTs on a still frame?
Yes. Export a still from your footage, ideally before grading, and apply the LUT here to compare looks quickly. The colours match what a video editor produces with the same .cube file at full intensity.
What LUT sizes are supported?
Any 3D cube size works, from small 17-point tables up to 65-point ones. Larger tables are more precise but the difference is rarely visible, because colours between sample points are smoothly interpolated.
