What the Star Citizen name generator makes
Star Citizen has three kinds of name players argue about. The handle is your account name, shown above your character in the 'verse, so it must be unique and readable; the generator gives gamer-style handles with underscores and numbers that are more likely to be free. Ship names are the in-game names you give each hull, and the community leans to dark humour about what the ships cost, the Bad Debt or the Insurance Claim. Org names describe a business or a fighting unit, from Deep Range Salvage to the Black Wing.
Picking an org name that lasts
An org name gets shortened into a tag, so say it aloud and abbreviate it before you commit. Name what the org does, Logistics, Salvage, Medical, so recruits know what they are joining, or name a style, Syndicate or Collective, if the org does a bit of everything. Avoid the names of real companies and the in-game manufacturers.

Can I change my Star Citizen handle?
Your handle is tied to your RSI account and is meant to be permanent, though support can sometimes change it. Your in-game display name can differ, so choose a handle you are happy to keep for years.
How do I name ships in Star Citizen?
Ship naming is tied to name reservations bought on the RSI site and to certain ship packages. Once a ship has a name, it shows on the hull and in your hangar.
Are these real org names?
No. The generator invents them from common words. Thousands of player orgs exist, so search the RSI organisation directory before you register a name in game.
