How the Camera Mirror works
This camera mirror turns your webcam into a mirror you can open in any browser tab. Check your hair or teeth before a meeting, zoom in up to 3×, and switch to Normal to see yourself as other people do. The picture stays on your screen and nothing is recorded.
A webcam is a handy mirror when there is no real one nearby: at a desk, in an office, or before a call. Unlike a bathroom mirror, it can also show you the view everyone else sees.
How the camera mirror works
Press Start camera and allow access. Each frame from the webcam is drawn onto a canvas, flipped left to right in Mirrored view. Zoom crops into the centre of the picture and scales it up, so 200% shows the middle half of the frame at full size. Changes to View and Zoom apply instantly.

Most people prefer their mirrored face, because it is the version they see every day. The Normal view can look slightly "off", which is why photos of yourself sometimes feel unfamiliar. Faces are rarely symmetrical, and the true view shows them the way others know them.

Zoom is digital, so it enlarges the pixels you already have. A 1080p webcam stays sharp to about 200%; a 720p one starts to blur sooner.
Tips and pitfalls
Light your face from the front. A lamp behind the screen, or facing a window, makes the mirror far more useful than the room's ceiling light.
Snapshots match the screen. Snapshot saves the picture with your current view and zoom, so a mirrored snapshot has backwards text.
Close it to release the camera. The camera light stays on while this tab is using it. Press Reset or close the tab when you are done.
How to read the result
The stats show which camera is in use and its resolution, which sets how far you can zoom before the picture softens.
FAQ
Why do I look different in the Normal view?
You are used to your mirror image, so your brain treats it as "you". The Normal view flips that, showing small asymmetries the other way round. It is exactly how other people and cameras see you every day, so nothing is wrong with it.
Is the camera mirror recording me?
No. The webcam picture is drawn onto the page and nothing is stored or sent anywhere. A snapshot is only made when you press Snapshot, and it is only saved to your device if you then press Download.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes, in a modern mobile browser. The page opens the default camera, which is usually the front camera on phones. Allow access when asked; on iPhone and iPad, Safari asks each time unless you allow it for the site.
How do I zoom in more than 3×?
The tool stops at 300% because a webcam image becomes too blurry beyond that. Move closer to the camera instead, which gives real detail rather than enlarged pixels.
