How the Social Post Maker works
This Instagram story maker designs at exact story size. Pick the platform size and the canvas takes that exact shape. The default is a two-colour gradient with a headline, a subline and your handle at the bottom; add a photo and it becomes the background, scaled to fill, with a Darken slider so white text stays readable. Every text block can be dragged, resized and restyled by clicking it; Add image a second time drops a logo or sticker; Box and Circle make coloured panels. Download PNG saves at the platform's pixel size with no watermark.
Instagram story maker: how it works
Every platform has its own image size and every "free" template site adds a watermark or wants an account. This page has the sizes built in — Instagram story and Reel cover at 1080 by 1920, square at 1080, portrait at 1080 by 1350, Facebook and X at 1200 by 675, LinkedIn at 1200 square, Pinterest at 1000 by 1500 — and composes the image on a canvas in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no mark on the output.
The layout. A headline in the middle, a subline under it, and a handle at the foot is the layout that works for announcements, quotes, offers and event reminders alike. The text sizes are proportional to the shorter side of the canvas, so switching from a story to a square keeps the same visual weight. Headline size is the one you will tweak most; the subline follows it at a fixed ratio until you click it and set your own.
Photos as background. The first photo you add becomes the background, cropped to fill the frame; a portrait photo suits a story and a landscape one suits a Facebook post, so choose the size before the photo. Darken photo lays a black tint over it, which is the standard trick for making light text legible over a busy picture — 0.3 to 0.5 is usually enough. Later photos are placed as movable layers for logos, product shots or cut-outs.
Safe zones. Instagram overlays its own interface on stories: the profile name at the top and the reply bar at the bottom, each about 250 pixels. Keep the important text in the middle 1400 pixels of a 1920-pixel story, which is where this layout puts it. Reel covers are additionally cropped to a square in the profile grid, so keep the headline central.
Colour. The gradient runs diagonally between the two colours; set them the same for a flat colour. Text colour applies to all three text blocks at once; individual blocks can then be changed in the Selected item panel.
Privacy. Photos are read locally and drawn to a canvas; nothing is uploaded; the PNG is generated in the tab.
FAQ
What size is an Instagram story?
1080 by 1920 pixels, a 9:16 ratio. Reels use the same size, and the Reel cover shown in your profile grid is cropped to the central square. Both are the first option on this page.
Can I make a carousel?
One image at a time. Make the first slide, download it, change the text and download again; the size, colours and background stay as they are between downloads, so the slides match.
Why does the photo look cropped?
It is scaled to cover the whole frame, so the parts outside the frame's shape are cut off. Choose the size before adding the photo, and for a specific crop prepare it first with the aspect ratio cropper.
Can I use my brand font?
The font list is limited to faces installed on nearly every device; the page cannot load a font file. Arial Black, Georgia and Trebuchet cover most brand looks approximately.
Is there a watermark or account?
No. The page is free, needs no sign-in, adds nothing to your image and never sees it. Nothing is added to the image and no server is involved beyond serving the page once.
