How the Divinity Name Generator works
A Divinity name generator for characters in the style of Divinity Original Sin. These games let you build a party from humans, elves, dwarves, lizard folk and even the undead, each with a very different culture and naming style. Pick a race and generate a character name, or a grand title for a mage.
How the Divinity name generator works
Humans get grounded, slightly gloomy names, Corwin Blackwater. Elves are a proud, grieving people tied to their sacred trees, so their names are flowing and sometimes carry a grove, Tirael of the Silver Leaf. Dwarves get sturdy names with mining surnames, Dagna Ironbellow. Lizard folk are a noble, arrogant empire obsessed with rank, so their names come with an extravagant honorific and a house, The Radiant Kaz'rhan of House Golden Crest. The undead get an old, sad name and a darkly funny epithet, Mortimer, the Rattling Bard. The Mage title mode gives any caster a grand epithet.
Races by type
All five races are common fantasy types, so every name here is original. They also work well for other party-based games.

FAQ
How do I name a lizard character?
Lizard folk in this style are proud nobles, so give them a hissing name with a grand honorific and a house, like The Magnificent Zhessa of House Golden Crest. The over-the-top title makes the character's arrogance clear in a single line.
What do undead names sound like?
Undead characters keep the name they had in life, usually something old-fashioned like Mortimer or Wilhelmina, with an epithet about their new state. Darkly funny epithets like Fingers of Dust suit the playful tone of the series.
Why do some elf names include a tree?
Elves in this style are tied to sacred trees that hold their memories and history. Naming a grove, like the Weeping Bough, shows where an elf comes from and gives their story a sad, rooted feeling.
Can I use these names in other games?
Yes. The names are original and fit any party-based fantasy RPG, tabletop campaign or story with humans, elves, dwarves, lizard folk and undead heroes, whether they are adventurers, scholars, pirates or reluctant saviours of the world.
