How the Nen Ability Generator works
A nen ability generator for aura powers in the style of the famous hunter manga. Pick one of six aura types and generate an ability name and what it does, or add a condition that makes the ability stronger. Every ability is original, ready for OCs, fan fiction and roleplay.
How the nen ability generator works
The six aura types follow the same six roles as the source manga, described here by type. Strengtheners boost their own body. Shapers change the properties of their aura. Projectors send aura away from the body. Makers turn aura into objects. Controllers take control of people or things. Oddities have powers that fit no other type. FAQ
How do I pick an aura type?
Start with your character's personality. Stubborn, simple fighters suit strengthening, tricky people suit shaping, planners suit making and bossy people suit controlling. The type should feel like it grew out of who the character is.
Why do conditions make abilities stronger?
In the source manga, limiting when or how an ability works gives it more power. Telling the enemy the rules or only using it in the rain are costs, and the ability becomes stronger in return.
What is the rarest aura type?
The one-of-a-kind type is the rarest, because its abilities do not fit any of the other five. These users often have strange powers linked to fate, luck or time, which makes them hard to predict.
Can I use these for Hunter x Hunter OCs?
Yes. The ability names, effects and conditions are original and free to use for OCs in fan fiction, roleplay and games without copying canon abilities.
