How the Persona Name Generator works
A Persona name generator for students, thief codenames, mythic other selves and palaces. The Persona series follows Japanese high school students who lead normal school lives by day and fight inside strange dungeons by night, using a mythic other self drawn from world mythology. Generate names for your OC, their codename, their other self and their dungeon.
How the Persona name generator works
Student names use common modern Japanese given names and surnames, Hinata Kanzaki, in Western order as the English games show them. Thief codenames are short, cool words that suit a secret identity, Raven or Jester. The Mythic other self mode picks gods and heroes from real world myths, such as Anansi from West African stories or Aengus from Irish myth, since the series draws its other selves from mythology. The Dungeon mode builds twisted places shaped by a villain's desire, combining a location and a sin, the Flooded Aquarium of Envy. The Tarot bond mode links a tarot card to a friend.
Tarot and bonds
The major arcana of the tarot are public domain, so pair each friend in your story with a card that suits their personality.

FAQ
How do I name a Persona OC?
Give your character a modern Japanese given name and surname, like Kaito Wakamiya, then add a short codename for their secret identity. A good codename hints at their personality or fighting style, like Viper for a sharp, dangerous character.
What makes a good thief codename?
A single short word that is easy to shout in battle and hints at personality. Animals, card terms and mythic figures all work well, like Sparrow, Ace or Siren, because they sound cool while keeping the real identity secret.
Where do other-self names come from?
In the series, the other self is named after a figure from world mythology, folklore or literature. This generator uses real gods and heroes from many cultures, such as Ixchel, Veles or Sedna, which are public domain and easy to research.
Can I use these names in other stories?
Yes. The names are original and fit any modern fantasy story about students with secret powers, as well as anime-style games, fan fiction and role-play campaigns that mix school life with dungeons, mythology and hidden identities.
