How the 3D Box Mockup works
This 3D box mockup generator wraps artwork onto a box. A packaging design is flat until it is on a box. Set the proportions of your carton, drop the artwork for each face, pick a matte or glossy finish and a background, turn the box to the angle you want and download a PNG at up to 4K. The result is a clean product render for a shop listing, a pitch deck or a portfolio, made in your browser with nothing uploaded.
3D box mockup generator: setting up the box
Width, height and depth are in whatever unit you like; only the ratios matter. A cereal box is about 19 × 28 × 7, a mailer box 30 × 20 × 10, a cosmetics carton 5 × 12 × 5. Type the real dimensions and the box takes the right proportions. Each face is labelled with its name until you give it artwork, using the blank face colour, so you can see which side is which while you set up.
Adding artwork
Drop up to six images at once and they are assigned to the faces in filename order: front, back, left, right, top, bottom. Naming your exports 1-front.png, 2-back.png and so on is the easiest way to control this. Dropping a single image adds it to the next empty face, so you can also build the box one side at a time. Each image is stretched to fit its face, so export the artwork at the face's real aspect ratio; the labels on the blank faces show the proportion you need to match. Clear artwork removes all six and returns the labels.
Finish, lighting and background
The box sits on a soft-shadow floor under a three-light studio rig. Matte gives a card or paper look; Glossy adds a sharper highlight for laminated or plastic packaging. Studio is a dark grey backdrop, Light and White are for e-commerce style shots, and Transparent removes the background and the floor shadow so the box can be composed onto anything in an image editor. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, right-drag to pan, and turn on auto-rotate for a quick look from every side.
Downloading
Download PNG renders the current view at preview size, twice preview size or 3840 pixels wide. The Transparent background gives a PNG with alpha, so the render drops straight onto a product page or a slide with no cut-out needed.
What this is not
This is a proportion-accurate box, not a photographic packaging simulation. There are no crease lines, tuck flaps or paper texture, and the artwork is not dielined; it is a fast way to see a flat design as a three-dimensional object and to produce a tidy render. For dielines and print-ready artwork, use your packaging supplier's template.
Privacy
The images are read from disk into graphics memory and rendered locally. Nothing is uploaded.
FAQ
In what order do the images go on the faces?
Front, back, left, right, top, bottom, sorted by filename with numbers compared numerically. Prefix your files with 1 to 6 to control the order, or drop them one at a time and each fills the next empty face.
What aspect ratio should the artwork be?
The same as the face it goes on: front and back are width by height, left and right are depth by height, top and bottom are width by depth. The image is stretched to the face, so a mismatch distorts it. The label on each blank face is drawn at the correct proportion as a guide.
Can I get a transparent background?
Yes. Choose Transparent in the background menu and the PNG is saved with an alpha channel and no floor shadow, ready to place over any backdrop in your image editor.
Why does the box look small or large?
Only the ratios of width, height and depth matter; the camera frames the box to fit. Press Fit view after changing the dimensions to bring the whole box back into frame.
