How the Screenshot to Video works

This screenshot to video tool turns a tall full-page capture into a smooth scroll from top to bottom. Drop the screenshot, pick a frame and a length, and press Render. It is a clean way to show a whole website in a portfolio, a pitch deck or a social post, made in your browser.

A full-page screenshot of a modern website can be 1440 pixels wide and 9000 tall. Shrunk to fit a slide, the text is unreadable; cropped, most of the page is lost. A scrolling video shows every section at a readable size, in the order a visitor would see it.

How screenshot to video works

The screenshot is scaled to the width of the output frame, keeping its proportions. The tool works out how far it must move to bring the bottom edge into view, then animates that distance with an ease-in-out curve, so the scroll starts and stops gently instead of jerking. It holds still at the top and bottom for the pause you set, and encodes 30 frames a second.

Screenshot Frame Scroll distance Good length
1440 × 6000 1920 × 1080 6920 px 15–20 s
1440 × 3000 1920 × 1080 2920 px 8–10 s
390 × 4000 (phone) 1080 × 1920 9157 px 20–25 s

Getting a full-page screenshot

Chrome and Edge can capture one with no extension: open DevTools, press Ctrl+Shift+P (Cmd+Shift+P on a Mac), type "full size screenshot" and press Enter. Firefox has "Take Screenshot" in the page's right-click menu, with a "Save full page" option. For a phone-shaped scroll, turn on device mode in DevTools first and capture at a phone width.

Tips and pitfalls

Pace it for reading. About 400–600 pixels of output per second feels unhurried. Divide the scroll distance in the stats by that to choose a length.

Sticky headers repeat. Some full-page capture tools stamp a fixed header onto every screen. Hide sticky elements before capturing if that happens.

Lazy-loaded images. Scroll to the bottom of the page once before capturing so every image has loaded; otherwise the screenshot has blank boxes.

How to read the result

The stats show the screenshot's size, how far it scrolls in output pixels, the clip length and the file size. A short screenshot that already fits the frame is shown still, and the tool says so.

FAQ

How do I make a scrolling video of a website?

Capture a full-page screenshot of the site, drop it here, choose a frame such as 1920 × 1080, set a length of 10 to 20 seconds and press Render. The download is a video that scrolls from the top of the page to the bottom.

Can I make a vertical scroll video for Reels or TikTok?

Yes. Choose the 1080 × 1920 frame. A phone-width screenshot fills it best; a desktop screenshot is scaled down to the 1080-pixel width, so small text may become hard to read on a phone screen.

Why does the video stand still for the whole time?

The screenshot is short enough that, scaled to the frame width, it already fits inside the frame, so there is nothing to scroll. Use a taller full-page capture or a wider frame shape to get movement.

Is my screenshot uploaded?

No. The image is decoded and animated by your browser, and the video is encoded on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so screenshots of private dashboards and unreleased sites stay private.
